Open House Celebration

On July 11th, Options for Life celebrated 35 Years of service in Comal County. We also celebrated five years in our current location, and what better way to celebrate than by opening the Center to our Options extended family. We are so appreciative for all those able to attend. Meeting and having fellowship with old and new friends was such a treat!

Activities for the evening included the choice of a guided tour of the facility by one of our Board members or the chance to just wander around the Center to see where and how our neighbors in this community facing an unplanned pregnancy are served. Those electing to accompany a Board member on a tour were taken to each of five "stations" including the Ultrasound room and Resource Center, among others. At each station, tour groups heard staff members explaining how clients are cared for and supported at their respective area. The tour culminated with Board president, Tom Taylor, sharing a bit of history about Options as well as a look ahead for this ministry.

As we are frequently reminded, it is only through you, our donors, answering the call of God by so generously sharing your time, talent, and treasure, that Options is able to play a vital role to so many of those around us in need of support. We pray God will bless you as you have so faithfully blessed Options and those we serve.

To God be the Glory!

Introducing Options Board Member
Jeff Moeller

We are pleased to introduce Mr. Jeff Moeller, who serves on the Board as
Vice President for Options for Life.

"I've always been concerned about abortion and the fight over who has rights - the unborn child or the mother. I'm a problem solver and like to truly understand the issues when making decisions. I believe God's Word is crystal clear on whose 'right' it is, as the unborn child is also His child. It was this struggle and desire to help the unborn that pushed me to find a place I could serve. The church I attended supported Options and I knew Tom Taylor, a friend of mine, was involved with Options. I can vividly recall driving to the San Antonio Rodeo with Tom and a mutual friend of ours and incidentally asking Tom if he was still serving on the Options board. I told him if they ever needed anything to let me know. A week later, he called and asked if I'd be interested in serving on the Options board.

I joined the Options board in April 2012, around the time Options was in the midst of planning a facility for its new location. My experience with site development in New Braunfels proved helpful as Options planned and constructed the new facility. It was an overwhelming and humbling experience to get a firsthand glimpse of what the Options staff does on a day to day basis. As Christians, we are familiar with terms like 'spiritual warfare' and commandments to 'put on the full armor of God', but as a Board member I've had the unique privilege to witness the Options staff manifest these teachings on a daily basis. As the Board, our role is to support staff and ensure they have the 'armor' necessary to fight the spiritual battles. I hope I can assist Options in planning for the future, so the staff and their mission can be fully armored for the spiritual battles and protection of the unborn today, tomorrow and for years to come. For as long as God calls me to serve in this position, I will be serving."

A Client's Testimony

"Dear Options for Life,

Thank you so much for the new car seats for my children! I had been using old car seats and they were expired. I thought I was putting them in correctly, but after taking your class, I learned that anchoring the seats and using a seatbelt was not double protection, they cancel each other out. Thank you for replacing our seats with new ones that were checked for my children's height and weight, and for installing them for me and showing me how to do it correctly.

We were in a horrible car accident recently. Both vehicles were going 55 mph when the other 1 ton truck ran a red light. We could have all been killed. The combination of prayers over our family and everyone being properly restrained SAVED OUR LIVES!

The paramedics who took my kids out of the vehicle and into the ambulance with me said they were so impressed at how well the car seats were installed and how snug they were on the kids. The buckles were at armpit height with no slack. My 2 and 5 year old were ok and we all, by the Grace of God, walked out of the ER that night.

Thank you for providing this service of love and protection over our kids. Thank you for giving us the car seats and the knowledge of how to use them correctly. It matters!"

A Thankful Mom
